Getting Started
I've always loved watching The Good Life (Felicity Kendall and Richard Briers being self-sufficient in a London suburb with the Yes Minister Guy (Paul Eddington) and the To The Manor Born Lady (Penelope Keith) living next door -- what's not to like?). And I just finished reading Sucking Eggs: What Your Wartime Granny Could Teach You About Diet, Thrift, and Going Green. Between the two, I'm hooked. I want to be more self-sufficient! I'm not going to try to have goats and chickens in Fairfax County, but I do want to try to bring back our little "farm" and grow some of our own veggies.
I ordered seeds today!
Here's what I ordered:
Broccoli
Brussels Sprouts
Baby Carrots
Watercress
Lettuce
Peas
Spinach
Zucchini
Arugula
Basil
2 kinds of pumpkins
Other than the pumpkins I have tons of seeds, so if you'd like to have some, just let me know. :)
